USA Dance The Royal Palm Dancesport Competition
Dear Friends and Competitors:
Enthusiasm and excitement filled the elegant and magnificent Goldcoast Ballroom
in Coconut Creek, Fl. on Jan.22, 2010.
The facility offered a superb venue for both the competitors and the spectators.
The 8th annual Royal Palm Winter Frolic Dancesport Championship was a huge
success with 30 couples gracing the dance floor in their disciplines.
Competitors ranged in age from 19 years to 70 years old. Repeat participants
came from New York, Canada, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Georgia
and numerous counties in Florida. The competition began with the presenting of
the National Anthem and continued for the rest of the day.
Spectators cheered for their favorites and the atmosphere was filled with
encouragement and excitement as each dancer danced to his or her best. This
event featured all syllabus levels in American Smooth and Rhythm and
International Standard and Latin as well as Novice, Pre-Champ and Championships,
West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango, and Hustle were also entries. Royal Palm
Chapter was so happy to be able to offer various scholarships.
The day was truly a funfilled one for all who attended. It was reassuring to
hear the positive feedback from many competitors and spectators. They said that
the comp was a wonderful event, so well organized with efficient volunteers, and
that they had a super time. We look forward to hosting our 9th annual
competition on Jan. 21, 2012.
